DESCRIPTION:An informative and fun class on lacto-fermentation.\nDuring an informative presentation at the beginning of the class, Cinda will share with you the history of fermentation, how and why it works, the equipment needed, and ingredients for successful fermentation projects.\nThen we move to the kitchen for the hands-on portion where you will be guided in the creation of your own fermenting jars, one with cabbage (sauerkraut) and one with carrots (escabeche), that you will take home, ferment on your counter and enjoy. You will learn two different air lock techniques and also be able to flavor your creations to your liking. After a week or so at home, you’ll have your own tasty and healthy sauerkraut and spiced carrot pickles.\nEach class is limited to 6 participants. Please plan to pay ($60/person, cash, check or charge) when you arrive at the class. Bring your own apron or use one of ours. Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended.\n
