Introduction to Low Sugar Canning
In this class you will learn to water-bath and steam-can jams and jellies using Pomona’s Pectin and a fraction of the sugar of normal recipes. We will also be making a sugar-free applesauce.
During an informative presentation at the beginning of the class, Cinda will share with you important techniques for safe canning. Then we move to the kitchen for the hands-on portion where you will be guided in the canning process while we make two different recipes. Each person attending will take home and enjoy a some of what they helped make.
Each class is limited to 6 participants. Please plan to pay ($60/person, cash, check or charge) when you arrive at the class. Bring your own apron or use one of ours. Closed toe shoes are highly recommended.
